CCTV clips may hold key to missing boy

Three friends of the missing 11-year-old boy, who claimed to have seen Asmawi at Midvalley Mega Mall on Wednesday, have been called in by police for a second time to review more clips from the CCTV camera system.

The friends could not identify him from the first set of images they were shown, so police got several other clips for them to view.

They showed a boy believed to be Asmawi with one or more adults who could be his kidnappers.

Sources say police are banking on the friends for more leads to who may have abducted Asmawi.
Brickfields acting police chief Superintendent Azri Abd Rahman said that on Friday, the three boys were taken to the Federal Police Sexual, Abuse and Child Investigation division (D11) in Bukit Aman to be interviewed by experts.

"We need to get more details from them, and the experts may be able to coax them into revealing more," said Azri.

He said police were still investigating the RM5,000 ransom demand Asmawi's family received by text message on Wednesday.

Yesterday Lembah Pantai member of parliament Nurul Izzah Anwar spent about an hour with Asmawi's mother at her Pantai Dalam home.

She assured Rozita Abu Hassan that everything possible is being done to find her son.

"I implore the kidnappers to return Asmawi unharmed," said Izzah.

Said Rozita: "She (Izzah) gave me strength, asking me to pray for Asmawi's safe return. She said I should not act on my own in trying to find him, but I should let the police do their job."

Asked whether she was angry at whoever might have taken her child, Rozita said: "I'm not angry, as long as that person returns Asmawi unharmed."

The Year Five pupil of Sekolah Kebangsaan La Salle Brickfields went missing about 6.30pm on Sunday.

He and a friend had gone to a playground about 200 metres from his home about 5pm.

Anyone with any information on the boy's whereabouts should contact the nearest police station or the Brickfields police at 03-2274-4465.

Keep Looking for Sharlinie

Haloo everybody..till now this wide of my fear is that if the momentum of the search is not maintained, she may not only be gone but after a lapse of time, forgotten.

A massive nationwide search for the missing girl has proved futile but the search is not about to end, not as yet, as according to the police, the case will not be closed.

In retrospect, it is heartening to note that posters of the missing girl are still being prominently posted at shopping complexes, my around UTHM and anywhere. Please try to do something useful.

The media and the banking and telecommunication sectors are still contributing in their own way, appealing for information on Sharlinie's whereabouts.
We, too, as caring Malaysians, sabahan, sarawakian share the same obligation. Look around your surroundings and neighbourhoods. Be curious and you may, by chance, find the vital lead or piece of intelligence or information that we have been searching for all this while to help trace Sharlinie.

I feel Sharlinie is still with us but confined or restrained from seeking help.

She may even be in public places but with her appearance changed a little for obvious reasons.
I hope for u all guys if u find her please do not hide and take some advantages for her...PLEASE ALERT!!!!..

What Makes A Guitar Player?

You might well ask. The age of the guitar hero seems to be well and truly over although there are still large numbers of people interested in listening to, rather than playing, the guitar. Real enthusiasm for the electric and acoustic guitar blossomed in the 1960's and 70's when everybody had a friend who sat in his bedroom all day and night practicing the guitar. Indeed this willingness to devote all of your time to a musical instrument is one of the principal ingredients of a guitar player. During these long hours spent alone with your guitar you acquire musical knowledge. You learn esoteric terms like "pentatonic scales" and "CAGED" finger patterns. Not only do you learn these terms but they actually become part of you. You can live and breathe chords and scales. You also learn to read written music. Guitar tablature might be your first portal into the world of learning music from a sheet of paper, but you will probably also learn conventional sheet music. Why would you learn to read sheet music if tabs are quite easy to read and give you a quick way of learning songs? Because the theoretical side of music becomes interesting. It's a thing of beauty, and you discover it in your bedroomy world of the sound of guitar notes and the smell of old socks. The other thing you discover through relentless practice is technique. Your fingers show that they can do things you don't even know about. The intelligence in your body has taken over and left your head brain for dead. You pick up your instrument and the hours of practice pay off in the way your body can translate dots on a page to music. Improvisation also grows from learning scales and chords and putting them into practice. Your first clumsy efforts at using other people's riffs and licks to help you in letting go and experimenting with making music spontaneously gradually transform into a daily ritual you can't live without. So here is a list of guitar players. Although you can probably name a hundred great players from rock or blues, I've put together a list from many different styles of guitar playing: Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton led their fans into the age of the guitar hero. Jimmy Page was a legend from very early in his career when he played guitar on many iconic songs of the nineteen sixties as a session guitarist. Paco De Lucia led a new age of flamenco playing in the seventies and still commands attention when he appears on stage. Julian Bream battled many difficulties to share the limelight in the idiom of classical guitar with his more flamboyant friend, John Williams. Improvising using only two fingers on his left hand, Django Reinhardt introduced jazz fans of the nineteen thirties and forties to the sound of acoustic instruments with his Hot Club Quintet. Stevie Ray Vaughn mesmerized his followers with his inventiveness and depth of feeling in his electric guitar music. And, finally two icons of the early sixties electric guitar scene - Hank B. Marvin whose warm overpowering sound made teenage boys wish to make guitar music, and Dick Dale who fired the imagination of young people with his frenetic surf guitar. I hope this little essay on what drives the novice guitar player and the wonders to be found in the practice of guitar playing has been enjoyable and has given you some insight into what a guitar player is made of.

Loans

Is looking for a home loan giving you a headache? All those lending institutions, their commercials, so many loan programs to choose from? They all start looking the same. How can anyone pick the loan that's right for them?

You need to start your due diligence. Learn the type of loan that suits you best. Knowledge is the key to finding the right deal. The bank loan agents or loan brokers want to fit you into the program they think is best one for you.

You need to know about no income verification home equity loans. This is a second mortgage loan that does not require you to provide income documentation to qualify for the loan. If you do not have enough equity in your home you can still get a loan that is 125% of your homes value. Debt consolidation loans are for those who have a really unmanageable amount of credit card debt. Use this loan to pay off all your debts with one payment each month and it's tax deductible. Bridge loans, as the name implies, is a loan used to bridge the financial gap between money required for your new property completion, prior to your existing property having been sold.

You can get personal loans, business loans, even loans for your wedding, SBA loans or a loan if you are unemployed. What ever your circumstance might be, most likely there is a loan out there for you. A good place to get more information is on the web.

The process of buying a home opened my eys to how difficult this could be. Over the years I learned that when seeking a loan, you need to have some knowledge of the lending industry. Their are a lot of sharks out there preying on consumers that don't have a basic understanding of the loan process. I wrote this article for consumers to inform themselves and I strongly recomend that you viset this web site http://www.yourrehome.com, it has crucial information on just about every type of loan available. If you need someone to help you with a loan, I recommend Audrey L. James with Residential Pacific Mortgage. She is very knowledgeable of the lending business and has unimpeachable integrity. How Does Music Help Foetus

The following article covers a topic that has recently moved to centre stage - at least it seems that way. If you have been thinking you need to know more about it, here is your opportunity.

Those of you not familiar with the latest information on music and feotus now have at least a basic understanding. But there's more to come.

Music is important in prenatal training. It helps to heal and produce a soothing and calming effect for mother and baby. One of the things that mothers should note is that before you can introduce music to your baby, you should first be able to enjoy it yourself. If you convey that you are not comfortable with music, he or she too will not be able to enjoy it.

Songs

Mothers who sing lullabies or children songs for the unborn baby are creating prenatal memories for the children later. When mother sings a song for the unborn baby, the baby will feel the love sent to the womb. It helps the baby to grow physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. For instance, my second son sang "I love you forever" at the age of 2 years old. He loved this song because he heard this song when he was in my womb as I used to sing it to him constantly.

Another example was my first son who is more proficient in English. Yet at the age of three, he sang a Cantonese song "Little Po Po", a language that he is not familiar with. He told us he could remember that song because grandma (who is a Cantonese) sang this song to him when he was in my womb.

In my third pregnancy, I incorporated music and singing into my prenatal training. I started to play the piano and sing children's songs to my third child. I noticed that as I sang the songs, my third child would make movements in my womb. His response in turn motivated me to continue singing to him. While I was singing these songs, I felt my energy level improve and shift to the positive. I became more energetic and it helped me set the right mood for the day.

Relaxation Music

I like alpha, heartbeat and Mozart's music. I listened to it constantly throughout my pregnancy with my second son. I felt relaxed and peaceful while the soothing music was playing. Two years later, to my surprise of course, my younger son told me that he too loved Mozart's music. We have now made it a common practice to turn on Mozart's music at night while reading story books to our children. In addition, he likes to listen to the heartbeat music before sleep. Music plays an important role in our lives. It helps us to relax and enjoy our lives.

Use of relaxation music and songs will have soothing and calming effects on mothers and unborn babies. You also create an instant connection with your unborn child through music.

As your knowledge about music and unborn baby continues to grow, you will begin to see how it into the overall scheme of things. Knowing how something relates to the rest of the world is important too.

Rock Pop Music....

Free Image Hosting by FreeImageHosting.net

Rock pop music is a style of popular music with an outstanding vocal melody accompanied by guitar, drums, and bass. Many forms of rock music also use keyboard instruments such as organ, piano, mellotron, and synthesizers. Other instruments sometimes employed in rock include harmonica, violin, flute, banjo, melodica, and timpani. Besides, rare stringed instruments such as mandolin and sitar are used. Rock pop music normally has a strong back beat, and often revolves around the guitar, either solid electric, hollow electric, or acoustic.

Rock pop music has its origin in 1940s and 1950s rock and roll and rockabilly, which developed from blues, country music and other influences. The All Music Guide opines that rock and roll in its purest form has three chords, a strong, insistent back beat, and a catchy melody. Initially, rock & roll took from a variety of sources, mainly blues, R&B, and country, but also gospel, traditional pop, jazz, and folk. All of these impact combined in a simple, blues-based song structure that was not only fast and catchy but also foot tapping.

In the late 1960s, rock pop music was combined with folk music ,blues and jazz to create folk rock, blues-rock and jazz-rock fusion respectively. It created psychedelic rock music irrespective of the time. In the 1970s, rock incorporated influences from soul, funk, and latin music. During the 1970s, a number of subgenres of rock, such as soft rock, heavy metal, hard rock, progressive rock, and punk rock was created. Synth-rock, hardcore punk and alternative rock were the sub genres of rock pop music that was developed in the 1980s whereas, rock subgenres in the 1990s included grunge, Britpop, indie rock, and nu metal.

A rock band or rock group is a group of musicians specializing in rock pop music . Most of the rock groups consist of a guitarist, lead singer, bass guitarist, and drummer, forming a quartet. Few groups may skip one or more of these roles and make use of a lead singer who can play an instrument while singing, forming a trio or duo; others include additional musicians such as one or two rhythm guitarists and/or a keyboardist. Seldom, groups also employ stringed instruments such as violins or cellos, or horns like trumpets or trombones.

Essential Care Tips for Your Guitar

Essential Care Tips for Your Guitar

If you want to keep your guitar in top condition, so that it always sounds great and keeps it's value, a few simple care and maintenance tasks need to be carried out. The guitar is a sensitive instrument and by following these simple steps, you will make sure that your guitar continues to perform at its best.
Watch the temperature.

Your guitar can tolerate a range of low and high temperatures, but it is rapid change in temperature that can cause problems such as a cracks in the body. Never leave your guitar next to a radiator, or in the back of your car on a hot day. Keeping your guitar in it's case when not in use can offer some protection against extremes of temperature change.

Is your guitar drying out?

Lack of humidity is another threat to your guitar, especially if it is an acoustic. Low humidity can cause cracking fret boards, split tops etc.. Keeping you guitar in it's case will protect against sudden changes in humidity as well as temperature. Use of a humidifier is recommended to deal with any humidity issues. These are usually placed in the sound hole so that the humidity within the guitar can be maintained at a suitable level and avoid the guitar drying out. This is particularly important in winter, when your heating will be drying out the atmosphere in your house.

Storing your guitar.

As already mentioned, storing your guitar in it's case when not in use is a good way to protect against changes in temperature and humidity. But is also good for general protection of your guitar from dust, knocks etc.. A solid body case is best as this affords better protection against knocks.

The alternative and cheaper option is to buy a rack or stand, so that the guitar can be stored in a secure position.

If you are not going to play your guitar for about a month or more, it is a good idea to loosen the strings. When tuned, the strings exert a strong force against the neck and body of the guitar. Over time this can cause warping, and bending out of shape. Loosening the strings takes the pressure off and will prevent any occurrence of this. You will simply need to retune your guitar once you start playing again.

Cleaning

The first step toward keeping a clean guitar is to make sure your hands are clean before you start playing. The life of strings can be affected by sweat and chemicals that are deposited by your fingers when playing. Keeping your finger nails trimmed on your fret hand will also prevent unnecessary wear of the fret board.

The strings should be cleaned after each session, by wiping with a soft cloth to remove any deposits. Cleaning the strings will not only extend the playing life of the strings, but will help keep the guitar in tune.

When the time comes to change the strings, take the opportunity to give the fret board a clean. This can get quite grubby with muck accumulating behind the frets. A dirty fret board will also reduce the useful life of your strings. To clean the fret board, use a damp paper towel to wipe gently between the frets. Be careful not to get the fret board wet. Then wipe the fret board with a dry paper towel. Many guitarist use Fretboard 65 Lemon Oil. This is a popular fretboard cleaning agent and treatment.

The finish on the body of modern guitars is usually quite durable and so should only require a wipe down with a soft cloth. Polishing, if required, should only be carried out using a specialist guitar polish. Ordinary furniture polish is not recommended as these often contain mild abrasives. If you polish your guitar too frequently with ordinary household wax polish, the layers of polish can eventually harden and alter the tone of your guitar.

Change old strings

If your guitar is sounding dull, or the guitar keeps going out of tune, this is usually a sign that the strings need replacing. If you are a professional or an amateur who plays frequently, you will probably have to change your strings every two weeks. For more casual use, every two to three months is more likely. All strings should be replaced at the same time. This is so that the characteristics and youth of the strings are consistent for all strings. Changing one string in isolation will give you problems maintaining tune of your guitar. When you are changing your strings, check the action of the tuning gears to make sure that there is no looseness or slack in the gearing. If any slack is found, the tuning gears should be checked and repaired by a competent guitar technician.

By following these simple guitar care tips, you will enjoy a long and tuneful relationship with your guitar.

Interesting Electric Guitar Facts You May Not Know

Interesting Electric Guitar Facts You May Not Know by David Smithe

As with any old pastime, there is a great deal of trivia associated with electric guitars and the people who played them well. Electric guitar innovators in manufacturing and performance techniques alike are heralded as some of the great historical icons. From the man who made the instrument famous to the booming manufacturing era, here are some highly interesting electric guitar facts.

The Need for Electric Guitars:

Electric guitars first appeared because of an unlikely demand. It is a well known electric guitar fact that the first instruments were needed by big jazz bands in the early 1930's. Bandleaders called for a source of amplification for the guitar so that it could be heard over the screaming horn sections and drums. Electric guitars for jazz were initially hollow bodied in nature, and this eventually led to the use of the instrument in other genres of music.

The First Electric Guitarist:

There were many attempts to create a guitar that could be amplified in the 1930's. Players and manufacturers experimented with attaching microphones to guitars, but their feats produced few viable results. The first successfully produced electric guitar was called the Rickenbacker. Now with this great new invention, there had to be a person that could really make the instrument sing. Electric guitars are different from acoustic guitars. Remember that at this time, there was no such thing as electric guitar technique. Charlie Christian is heralded as the very first electric guitarist. His unique guitar playing technique went on to inspire many other famous guitarists, and as more players began to develop skill, a need arose for more progressive models of electric guitars.

The First Solid Body Electric Guitar:

One of the most widely known electric guitar facts is that innovator Les Paul created the solid body electric guitar. One of the most recognizable instruments in the world, the solid body electric is so popular these days largely due to the early efforts of Les Paul. Les Paul wanted a smaller bodied guitar that relied more on the power of its electronics than acoustic offerings of a hollow body electric. Makers like Fender and Rickenbacker quickly followed suit and began producing impressive solid body electrics. The Les Pal model, however, retains its seat as the king of all electrics, and is still one of the most popularly sold and played instruments today.

The Electric Guitar Invades Classical Music:

Electric guitars are common in jazz, rock, blues, and country music. Gurus of all types tend to overlook electric guitar facts relating to classical music. The instrument crossed into this unlikely genre and plays an important role for classical guitarists and composers alike. Composers experiment with wild songs that call for some 100 electric guitarists, and the instruments are often employed for live performances and recording sessions alike.

These are some very basic electric guitar facts, and there are many more like them. Records have been set and broken, and you just might find yourself turning into a guitar fact finding guru if you continue researching the history of the electric guitar.
